When the new Samiam album arrrived a couple of wee

When the new Samiam album arrrived a couple of weeks ago, I was pretty disappointed. Even before unpacking, I could tell from looking at the shipping box that the record could not have remained intact. And sadly I was right: the corners were severely dented, the inner sleeve damaged and the vinyl had even punctured through the album cover. Very frustrating! At least the vinyl looks and sounds great...

I still do not understand why some record stores and labels are not able to send a vinyl record safely packed. All the seam splits and bumped corners in my record collection could have been easily avoided with a little more care when packing the vinyl. I posted some pictures of an If These Trees Could Talk album which is probably the most damaged in my collection.

On Vinyl Fantasy Mag I published an article on how to safely pack and ship a vinyl record (read more at the link in bio). Maybe I will send it to all the retailers that I'll order records from in the future 😉

Hello, it's me. I never really posted a picture of myself. So here we go. My name is Carsten and I am addicted to vinyl. I lived the High fidelity lifestyle and worked in a record store for 6+ years (Dodo Beach in Berlin). Now I am writing about vinyl records in my online magazine. Also in english from now on!

The record in my hands is one of my favourite ones. By one of my favourite bands. It was released 20 years ago last month! I remember it as if it were yesterday that I traveled to Hannover for a gig of the album release tour. I've already forgotten the venue. Over the years I watched them live about half a dozen times. Each one was amazing!

Finally available on vinyl. What a sensational debut by this young band from beautiful Brighton. This may turn out to be my feelgood album for the upcoming summer. This definitely won't leave my turntable for a while. I hope they will come on tour in germany soon after they opened some gigs for @fjort_laerm earlier this year.
